I’ve been working on a book called So Wrong with artists Wayne Bryant for ages now and I’m super excited to say it’s almost here.
Because it’s 192 pages long it looks like a normal novel, but it’s actually a whole bunch of weird things all thrown together, like short stories, odd ads (for things like The Parental Attitude Adjuster) and some very strange advice from boy called Mitey Mikey, who shares his, so called, ‘life lessons’ for kids.
It’s a weird book that’s loaded with illustrations and brimming with wrongness.
We think it’s mainly for 10-12 year olds (but we already know some 8 year olds who love it),
and mostly for boys (but girls laugh just as much when we read it in schools, so we’re not sure about that either)
and most definitely for reluctant readers. That part we know. In fact, we think we’ve created a book that kids who don’t like books will like a lot.
It’s coming out in August (but maybe as early as July) and here’s a sneak peek of one of the stories.
If you like it, you can order a signed copy from my Bookshop and be the person kid you know to own one. Or you could just wait to see the whole thing in a bookshop or library.
